The Guide to Houston's Chinatown:

My favorite Pho joint

Chinatown is bordered by the Westpark Tollway on the North end and Highway 59S on the South end with the Sam Houston Tollway (Beltway 8) running right down the middle.

Arguably, I would say that the west end of Chinatown (West of Beltway 8) is the majority of the Vietnamese businesses (Doctors, Dentists, etc) , restaurants, and entertainment. The east side of Chinatown is primarily the Chinese side of Chinatown with the Chinese restaurants, businesses, and entertainment (Such as Melody KTV, Stage Live Music, Etc).

Restaurant: Pho Danh (Pronounced Fuh Yun)

Pho Danh is located in the Hong Kong City Mall shopping center located  on the Vietnamese side of Chinatown. 11209 Bellaire, Houston, TX.

As soon as you pull into the shopping complex, park to the right of the main entrance in the middle. There will be a doorway to the right for you to enter. This should look familiar:

Make a left and proceed down the shopping center and you'll notice this restaurant.

This is my favorite Pho place in Houston. Here is the Menu:

Total cost was including tax and tip was around $9. One of the cheapest/full/satisfying meals in Houston.

The green leaves are Thai basil that I add to the Pho. The white strands are bean sprouts which cook rather quickly in the hot broth. I eat mine with a side of Sriracha to dip in.

Protip: Most places in Chinatown do not accept Credit cards. If they do, there's usually a high minimum to go along with it. This is one of the few places in Chinatown that does accept it.

Protip #2: If you follow directions according to Google Maps, exiting Bellaire off the tollway will incur you a $.75 toll. If you're heading North on the Beltway from 59, exit the Gessner exit which will add a total of 3 minutes to your commute but save you $.75.
